hat sets CERB apart as a carrier, and what types of transport do you use?
CERB is a licensed freight carrier that combines high-end specialized equipment with an experienced professional team. We operate both road and rail transport. Our fleet includes Mercedes ballast tractors, specialized SHOERLE and Broschus trailers, as well as rail-boat wagons. This combination allows us to perform safe, precise, and reliable transport of heavy and oversized loads.
What are your capabilities for rail transport, and what types of cargo do you move?
For rail transport, we use specialized rail-boat wagons with load capacities of up to 250 t and 96 t. We have a 20-axle MAN rail-boat wagon with a capacity of 250 t and onboard hydraulics, suitable for self-supporting loads as well as non-self-supporting loads on an intermediate platform up to 200 t. Additionally, we use a unique 8-axle Uaai-type wagon in Bulgaria, with a cargo platform between two half-wagons and a maximum load capacity of 96 t.

What kind of vehicle equipment do you have for oversized transport, and what are its advantages?
Our fleet for oversized transport includes Mercedes 3850 ballast tractors with 6×6 drive and over 500 HP, eight-axle Scheuerle modular trailers with a load capacity of up to 120 tons and hydraulic load equalization, four-axle trailers for working in confined spaces with a load capacity of up to 60 tons, as well as three-axle low-bed trailers up to 35 tons. This equipment allows the transportation of large and heavy loads with a high degree of control and maneuverability.
How do you ensure safety when transporting heavy and oversized loads?
Safety is ensured through detailed pre-route inspections and escorting with our own pilot vehicles. When necessary, a police escort from traffic authorities (KAT) is organized for safe passage through critical sections.
What are the technical advantages of the trailers used on complex routes?
The eight-axle Scheuerle modular trailers feature a hydraulic system for automatic load equalization across the axles, while the four-axle trailers are equipped with active local steering of the bogies. This allows precise maneuvering in narrow transport corridors, industrial areas, and urban environments.
How does CERB approach the transportation and installation of non-standard and especially heavy loads?
CERB’s specialized team performs complex loading and unloading operations using rigging techniques in areas where crane access is severely limited—near power lines, under low ceilings, or in confined spaces. We provide dismantling, relocation, and installation of machinery and equipment, including precise positioning on temporary or permanent foundations. No weight limitations!
Can you provide examples of large-scale projects where CERB has provided transport and installation of heavy equipment?
We have carried out numerous transports and installations of power transformers, stators, and rotors at strategically important energy sector facilities such as electrical substations, hydroelectric plants, and nuclear power plants. We have transported transformers using our 20-axle rail-boat wagon to some of the largest thermal power plants in Bulgaria.
