On December 11, the General Assembly of the Scientific and Technical Union of Power Engineers in Bulgaria (NTSEB) was held at the House of Science and Technology in Sofia. Members of the Supervisory and Management Boards participated in the meeting. Following discussions and individual voting for each proposed candidate, Dimitar Beleliev, PhD, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CERB AD, and Ivan Zhelyazkov, PhD, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of CERB AD, were once again unanimously elected as members of the Management Board of NTSEB.
The main objectives of the Union are to support the professional development, foster the creative potential, and protect the intellectual property of its members. The organization assists enterprises and institutions in improving energy efficiency, promoting the use of renewable energy sources, and addressing specific scientific, technical, and practical challenges in the energy sector.
During the assembly, Prof. Boncho Bonev presented the report of the Management Board on NTSEB’s activities and financial status for the period 2022–2025, which was unanimously approved by the General Assembly following discussion.
The assembly also addressed the serious issue of workforce shortages in the sector and potential measures to address it, including initiatives to attract young talent and specialists to the energy industry—targeting students, pupils, and educators alike.
